The objectives of this course are to present a 3-dimension integrated methodology to health-related social-spatial issues. We define it as SSN methodology, namely, Spatial, Sociological and Network approach. We will apply the SSN methodology to disease transmission, including clustering trends and diffusion dynamics, and neighboring structures of health-related issues. The corresponding statistical programs are Geoda, HLM 6, and Ucient 6. We will introduce (1) the basics of SSN methodology to bring spatial, sociological and network analysis into studies of health-related issues; (2) to introduce current studies (literature) using SSN methodology to health-related issues; (3) to introduce the basics of statistical programs to apply SSN methodology.
